The “Let’s Glow 4 Gabby” fundraising walk to help the Clabes family will be held at Friday, Aug. 1 at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park in Midwest City.

Participants will receive a t-shirt and glow sticks for the walk. The course is about 1 ½ miles. The event starts at 8 p.m.

“Gabby’s goal is to continue to able to walk and we thought this was fun way to help her do it,” said event organizer Lori Sosenko. “And it’s something the whole family can get involved in.”

The registration fee will be $20 per person. Corporate sponsorships are available for $250. The corporate sponsors will have their names listed on the t-shirts. Event organizers also have walking path sign sponsorships available for $100.

Proceeds from the event will help cover Gabby’s medical expenses. The teen was born with proximal femoral focal deficiency (PFFD), which caused one of her legs and hip to not properly develop. Gabby’s leg was amputated and she has been able to walk with use of a prosthesis.

She is in need of additional surgeries and prosthetics to allow her continue to be able to walk.
