Bobby Landrum

Canadian County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Bobby Gene Landrum, 42, of Mustang last week at his residence near Czech Hall and State Highway 152.

The arrest took place on Tuesday, March 25 after an undercover investigation determined Landrum was distributing child pornography from a computer located inside his residence at 812 W. Elder Drive.

Sheriff’s deputies working in conjunction with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) obtained a search warrant for Landrum’s residence after it was determined child pornography was being sent across the internet from a computer in his Mustang home.

On their arrival, deputies entered the home, located and secured multiple computers for forensic examination.

Using state-of-the-art technology deputies were able to conduct an on-scene examination of Landrums computers verifying the possession of hundreds of files of child pornography.

When asked about the child pornography, Landrum readily admitted that he regularly downloaded child pornography and viewed it out of curiosity. In-fact, investigators determined he possessed over 21,000 images and videos of child pornography, Landrum attempted to downplay that he was doing anything wrong.

"Anyone possessing 21,000 images and videos of child pornography doesn’t do it out of curiosity, they do it because they have fantasies. It’s only a matter of time before they act out on their fantasies and victimize an innocent child," said Randall Edwards, Canadian County Sheriff.

The Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit continues to operate under the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations ICAC Task Force, and is assisted with polygraph examinations by the United States Secret Service.

Landrum was booked into the Canadian County Jail where he was charged with Aggravated Possession of Child Pornography & Distribution of Child Pornography; due to the number of computers that were seized, it is believed additional charges will be filed. Landrum remains in custody with his bond set at $300,000.
