A Tuttle teen died in a head-on car accident Friday afternoon on Highway 37, east of Morgan Road.

Police say Catherine Drummond pulled out of the parking lot at High Velocity Fitness, 7508 E. Highway 37, when she was struck by an oncoming semi truck. The driver of the semi tried to stop and skid before striking Drummond’s car head on just before 4 p.m.

Drummond was alone in the car at the time of the crash.

The driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries.

Drummond was entering her senior year at Tuttle High School. She was active in her church and as a volunteer with the Tuttle Special Olympics Team.
