LaVerne Bethel McKay, age 90, died Friday, November 06, 2009. She was born August 26, 1919 in Oklahoma City, OK to Alnie Lee and Clarice Ann (Warren) Ferree. She grew up in Oklahoma City and was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked for many years for Sky Chef at Will Rogers World Airport. She came to Mustang in 1977, moved to Arlington, TX in 2004 and back to Oklahoma City two years ago and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, one son Bob, two sisters Mary Kathrine and Marquita and one brother Gail. She is survived by two sons Jack McKay and wife Kathy of Broken Arrow, Ronnie McKay and wife Pam of Claremore, one brother Lawrence Ferree of Ada, one sister Jean Curren of St. Louis, MO, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment following in Mustang Cemetery.
